Barongarook Weed and Pest Control has a new home at Rencon Air and Land.
The long-standing Colac company will continue to provide top-notch services to Colac and district clients after Rencon made the decision to purchase the company as part of its expansion in the region.Rencon is a growing provider of forestry, firefighting, land management and aerial surveying services.Rencon Air and Land managing director Nick Reynish said Barongarook Weed and Pest Control would continue the same quality service, now with the backing and resources of a bigger company.
“It’s a new area for us to grow our business,” he said. Mr Reynish said he saw Colac as a growing community with thriving industries, and he was showing his confidence in Colac by investing in the region.
“We want to be part of that growth,” he said. “For me personally it’s great to employ locals, which is exactly what we’re doing.”Ian Lane founded Barongarook Weed and Pest Control in 1993, with Brad and Jacinta Langdon buying the company in 2010.
Brad Langdon will continue as a senior manager at the company’s new home at Rencon, while former Barongarook Weed and Pest Control employee Brad Morgan is Rencon’s regional works manager overseeing the region. Barongarook Weed and Pest Control has a 28-year history with a strong client base and reputation, and the company has won various awards.
It supplies services and products to a range of clients through the Barwon, Great South Coast and Central Highlands regions. Barongarook Weed and Pest Control’s services include spot spraying; domestic, commercial and industrial pest control; broadacre boom spraying of pastures and crops; UTV spot and boom spraying; cricket and slug baiting; vermin control such as baiting, fumigation and shooting; manufacture and sales of 1080 products; sales of Fox-off and De-fox baits; and the manufacture and sale of Pindone products.
Founded in 2005, Rencon’s mission is to provide clients with the best service using the latest technology, empowering innovation while providing the safest workplace possible. Mr Reynish said Rencon was proud of its high-tech drone service, which the company aims to integrate into all its services. This will include aerial photography for agricultural use and identification of weeds and pests.
